Indonesia Urges Restoration of Security in Rakhine
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi (Photo:Antara/Sigid Kurniawan), Jakarta: Indonesia has condemned the attack on police stations and refugee shelters in Rakhine State, Myanmar last Friday.

"Indonesia expects the Government of Myanmar to take immediate steps to restore security and provide inclusive human protection," Indonesia's Foreign Ministry said in a written statement on Tuesday.

Indonesia also encourages all parties to immediately stop the acts of violence, contribute to the restoration of security, and respect the human rights of people in Rakhine State, including the Moslem community," it added.

Indonesia admitted the situation in Rakhine State is complex. It called for cooperation among all stakeholders in order to decrease tensions.

Indonesia will continue cooperation with Myanmar in the process of reconciliation, democratization, and inclusive development. It will support the implementation of Kofi Annan's report recommendation.
