Bali Hosts World Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto opened the World Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Nusa Dua, Bali on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

"Parliaments as people's representatives also have obligations and responsibilities to support the Agenda 2030 goals and targets," Novanto said.

"We all realize that poverty eradication is the most difficult global challenge," he added.

As many as 47 countries take part in the forum, including India, Zimbabwe, Canada, Iran,  Meksiko, Portugal, South Korea and Turkey. Around 19 organizations participatedin the event, including ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), UNDP, European Union, and Migran Care.

The forum will took place over two days. The event will address various international issues.
