Metrotvnews.com, New York: Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has conducted series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) activities.

Retno mostly discussed bilateral cooperation opportunities. The other topic was Indonesia's candidacy to the non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the period 2019-2020.

"We mentioned Indonesia's candidacy for membership in the United Nations Security Council in all bilateral meetings. We received positive responses," she said.

Retno also attended a high-level meeting on UN reform. The meeting was led by United States President Donald Trump.

"Indonesia and 13 other countries are co-sponsors for UN reform. Our main focus is more efficency and less bureaucracy," she said.
