Indonesia to Explore Investment Opportunities in Niger

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia's President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo received Niger's President Mahamadou Issoufou at Freedom Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday morning.

"First, we are both Muslim countries. Secondly, we are both democratic countries. Thirdly, we are both developing countries," Jokowi said.

The two leaders talked about a number of bilateral and regional issues. Niger will support Indonesia's candidacy as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2019-2020 period.

"I appreciate Niger's support for Indonesia's candidacy," Jokowi added.

The two governments discussed a wide range of economic and business cooperation oppurtunities. Indonesia will support infrastucture projects in the West African country.

"We will support public housing projects in the West Africa country," Jokowi added.
