Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Indonesian government is closely monitoring the diplomatic crisis in the Middle East region.

President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has contacted Qatari Emir Syekh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Tsani, the United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"I want to get inputs. What is the root causes? What is the possible solutions," Jokowi said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has contacted Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah Al-Khalid AL-Sabah, Iranian Foreign Minister ohammad Javad Zarif and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

"I have discussion with the Middle East Foreign Ministers about the development of situation in the region," Retno said last week.

Saudi Arabia, the United arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Maldives, Mauritania and Comoros has severed diplomatic relationship with Qatar, citing several issues, including Qatar's relationship with Iran, Ikhwanul Muslimin and terror groups.
