Indonesia-Vietnam Committed to Strengthen Defence Cooperation
Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu (Photo:MI/M Irfan), Jakarta: Indonesian Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu received Vietnamese Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich in Central Jakarta on Friday morning.

The two governments are committed to increase military cooperation to maintain regional stability. They are ready to improve communication to tackle terrorism threat.

"The threat of terrorism is real. Both of us are very aware of that," Ryamizard said.

The two governments have agreed a number of coooperation in a wide range of sectors. They will carry out military education, peacekeeping and defence industry collaborations.

Furthermore, the two governents have formulated series of meetings between related government agencies. They will hold defence policy dialogue and joint working group events.

"One Vietnam military official is currently Indonesia. About 12 Indonesian military officials are currently in Vietnam," Ryamizard revealed.
