FM Retno Welcomes UAE Envoy, Discusses Qatar Crisis

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia's Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi received the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Special Envoy Ma'ali Abdurrahman Muhammad al-Uwais in Jakarta on Thursday.

The meeting discussed about the curret situation in the Middle East region, including the ongoing Qatar diplomatic crisis.

"Indonesia urges all parties to prioritize dialogue to prevent escalaation," Retno said.

"Indonesia is ready to give help to resolve the problem," she added.

Qatar is currently facing diplomatic feuds with several Middle East countries, as the country is acussed of maintaining good relations with Iran, Ikhwanul Muslimin and terror groups.

Previously, Indonesia's President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has contacted Qatar's Emir Syekh Tamin bin Mohammad bin Khalifa al-Tsani, UAE Prime Minister Mohammaed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
