Indonesia Launches Humanitarian Program for Rakhine State

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia's Foreign Ministry has launched the Humanitarian Assistance for Sustainable Community (HASCO) program to develop Myanmar's Rakhine State.

The program is managed by the Indonesia Humanitarian Alliance for Myanmar (AKIM). It is supported by a number of local non-governmental organizations.

The program will cooperate with the Myanmar government. It will coordinate with various international organizations.

"The program will showcase collaborations between government agencies and civil society groups," Indonesia's Foreign Minster Retno Marsudi said at Pancasila Building in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Indonesia has constructed four schools in Rakhine State. The country has shipped tonnes of foods and clothes to the troubled region.

"Indonesia is clesy monitoring the latest situation in the state," the Inonesian top diplomat said.
