Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Abu Sayyaf militants have taken two Indonesian sailors to Sulu province in the southern Philippines.

"The two Indonesian citizens have been taken to Sulu province," said Foreign Ministry citizen protection director Lalu Muhammad Iqbal in a written statement on Tuesday (11/22).

"Indonesian Foreign Minister have contacted her Malaysian and Filipino counterparts," he continued.

Abu Sayyaf militants hijacked two fishing vessels in Malaysian waters last month. They kidnapped two Indonesian sailors from the two fishing vessels.

The sailors are Saparuddin bin Koni and Sawal bin Maryam. They are both from South Sulawesi.
