FM Retno to Visit Indonesian-Funded Hospital Project in Rakhine

Jakarta: Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Indonesian-funded hospital in Rakhine, Myanmar on Sunday, November 19, 2017. 

"The project was started few months ago. The blueprint was completed in April," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arrmanatha Nasir said in Jakarta on Friday.

"The project will cover 12 thousand square meters of land. The building will cover eight thousand square meter of land," he added.

The hospital will be built solely by local contractors. According to the proposal, it will be used by both Rohingya and Rakhine communities.

The Indonesia government will cooperate with Myanmarese authorities. Furthermore, it will coordinate with Indonesian humanitarian agencies.

"The project is funded by the Indonesian public, the Indonesian Government, the Indonesian Muslim Community, the Indonesian Buddhist community, the Indonesian Red Cross and others," he added.
