Indonesia to Build Hospital in Rakhine

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia is set to build a hospital in Mrauk U, Rakhine, Myanmar in the near future.

"We will build a hospital in Mrauk U," Deputy Foreign Minister AM Fachir said in Jakarta on Friday.

Several humanitarian groups will fund the project. They will raise Rp30 billion for the project.

Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (Mer-C) will prepare Rp10 billion. Indonesia Red Cross (PMI) will prepare another Rp10 billion.

"The others will prepare the rest," Mer-C chief Sarbini Abdul Murad said.

The humanitarion groups will provide medical equipments. They will train local medical officers.

"We will cover relief, rehabilitation and community development," Fachir stated.
