Jokowi Expresses Condolences Over Passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo has conveyed his condolences on the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

"He delivered peace, unity and prosperity to his people," said Jokowi at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (10/13).

King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok this afternoon. He died at the age of 88.

He was the longest-serving monarch in the world. His reign started in June 1946.

The Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will succeed to the throne. Thailand will observe a year-long mourning period.
