Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Saudi Ambassador Osamah Mohammed al-Shuibi said Indonesian cannot use Hajj quotas of other countries.

Philippine immigration officers detained 177 Indonesians last August. They tried to observe Hajj with Philippine passports.

"Quota for the Philippines is only for the Phillipines," said Shuibi at the Vice Presidential Office in jakarta on Tuesday (11/15).

"The quota is not for Indonesia," he continued.

Saudi Arabia slashed Hajj quota for Indonesia from 211,000 to 168,000 in 2013 due to renovations at the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. "The quota will return to normal after the renovations," he stated.
