ASEAN Committed to Achieve SDGs
ASEAN is committed to promote SDGS in the region (Photo:MTVN/Sonya Michaella), Jakarta: ASEAN is committed to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Southeast Asia.

"We promote the goals to the Southeast Asian people," ASEAN Deputy Secretary General Vongthep Arthakaivalvatee during a seminar regarding the SDGs in Jakarta on Monday (9/19/2016).

The SDGs are the successor to the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs). The SDGs contain 17 goals and 169 targets covering a broad range of sustainable development issues.

"They should know the benefits of the SDGS," he continued.

He mentioned the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 is aligned with the SDGs. He added that ASEAN Student Exchange Program is one of the implementations of the SDGs.

"We want to improve the student exchange program," he stated.
