Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Abu Sayyaf armed group in the southern Philippines released four Indonesian sailors last week. The Foreign Ministry brought the sailors home on Saturday (9/24).

"Deputy Foreign Minister AM Fachir has handed over the four sailors to their families," the ministry's citizen protection director Lalu Muhammad Iqbal said in a written statement on Tuesday (9/27).

The four sailors are Lorence Koten, Theodorus Kopong and Emanuel from East Nusa Tenggara as well as Herman Manggak from South Sulawesi.

The first three sailors were kidnapped in Lahad Datu on July 9, while Herman was kidnapped in Sandakan on August 3.

Currently, Abu Sayyaf still holds five other Indonesian sailors.
