Jokowi Departs for G20 Summit in China
President Joko Widodo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta to China on Friday (9/2/2016) morning (Photo:Antara/Widodo S. Jusuf), Jakarta: President Joko Widodo left Jakarta this morning to attend the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China and the ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Laos.

"President Jokowi will promote tax transparancy in the G20 Summit," Presidential Secretariat chief of press, media and information Bey Machmudin said in a press release on Friday (9/2/2016).

He will conduct bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Argentine President Mauricio Marci on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

From China, he will directly fly to Laos to attend the ASEAN Summit. "President Jokowi will reiterate the importance of peace and stability in the region," Bey continued.

He will be accompanied with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaiitan.

The G20 Summit will be held on September 4-5, while the ASEAN Summit will be held on September 6-8.
