Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Philippine Foreign Minister Perfecto Yasay denied Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has given green light to the execution of Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso.

"Duterte has not given the so called green light," Yasay said in the Philippine Foreign Ministry's website on Monday (9/12/2016).

Previously, President Joko Widodo revealed he and Duterte discussed about Mary Jane when the later visited Indonesia last week.

Jokowi said Duterte gave permission to Indonesia to execute the Philippine drug convict.

According to Yasay, Duterte only said that he will accept whatever the final decision regarding the case.

The Indonesian government postponed Mary Jane's execution last year due to legal process in the Philippines.

Mary Jane was arrested at Adisucipto Airport in Yogyakarta in 2010. She was caught with 2.6 kilograms of heroin.
