Indonesia Believes Thailand Will Remain Stable

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Indonesian government believes Thailand will remain stable after the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

"Thailand is our neighbor country. We are ASEAN members," said the Foreign Ministry spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir at his office in Jakarta on Friday (10/14).

"We believe the Thai government as well as Thai people will maintain stability in the region," Arrmanatha continued.

Previously, President Joko Widodo expressed his condolences to Thai people. Jokowi said King Bhumibol was respected figure in ASEAN.

"He delivered peace, unity and prosperity to his people," said Jokowi.

King Bhumibol passed away at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok on Thursday (10/13) afternoon. He died at the age of 88.

He was the longest-serving monarch in the world. His reign started in 1946.
