Indonesia Won't Rush Mary Jane's Execution: Foreign Ministry

Metrotvnews.com, Yogyakarta: The Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister A. M. Fachir said the Indonesian government will not rush the execution of Philippine drug convict Mary Jane Veloso.

"We are still waiting legal process in the Philippines," Fachir said here on Wednesday (9/14/2016).

The Indonesian government postponed Mary Jane's execution last year due to legal process in the Philippines.

President Joko Widodo and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte discussed the issue when the later visited Indonesia last week.

Duterte told Jokowi he will not interfere over Mary Jane's execution. He will accept whatever the final decision regarding the issue.
