Russian Warship Visits Jakarta
Admiral Tributs Will visit Indonesia for five days (Photo:MTVN/Willy Haryono), Jakarta: A Russian warship visits Indonesia to strengthen military relations between the two countries.

Admiral Tributs is an anti-submarine warfare destroyer. The warship arrived in Indonesia on Monday (10/31). It will be in the country until Friday (11/4).

"We modernized the warship before this visit. We also improved the armament two years ago," said Russian Pacific Fleet deputy commander Rear Admiral Eduard Mikhailov at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/2).

The warship brings 325 crew members. It also carries a helicopter.

The visit coincides with Indo Defence 2016 exhibition. Russia wants to expand military cooperation with Indonesia.

"We hope Indo Defence can boost this cooperation," said Russian Ambassador Mikhail Galuzin.

Indo Defence is the largest defence exhibition in Southeast Asia. Indo Defence 2016 is held at Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran on November 2-5.
