Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Indonesia has called all parties to exercise restraint ahead of a ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) on China's claims in the South China Sea.

"Indonesia calls all parties to exercise restraint and to avoid actions that could raise the tension," wrote the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its official website, on Tuesday (7/12/2016).

The PCA will announce the ruling at its headquarters in the Hague, the Netherlands today.

The case was filed by the Philippines in 2013. The Philippines believes China's nine dash line in the South China Sea is not in accordance with the international law.

China has signaled it will reject any rulings about its claims. It prefers to hold bilateral negotiation with other claimant countries to resolve the disputes in the region.
